About
Melt Glass Foundry is a project by Wm. Austin Norvell that helps clients realize their ideas in glass.
Norvell, who took up art and photography at a young age, was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He worked with mold making in college in England and learned foundry work at College of Charleston. Norvell has maintained glass working studios throughout the Southeast since 2000. In 2004 he was introduced to glass casting by Dan Clayman at Penland School of Crafts. Immediately following the course, he purchased a large kiln and began what would be a decade of intense study and experimentation in cast glass though workshops, apprenticeships, studio visits and collaborations.
Norvell has created a wide range of work for clients throughout the world.
